Hello, I’m Ra’Von Lychelle, affectionately known as “Ray” — a licensed professional cosmetologist dedicated to the health, restoration, and maintenance of all hair types, with a special emphasis on natural and textured hair.

Starting with family, My passion for hair began at the age of 10 years old. I graduated from cosmetology school and obtained my professional license in 2017. It was during this time that I truly discovered how powerful education and proper hair care practices could be in helping women transform both their hair and their confidence.

I began my full-time career as a stylist in 2020, and shortly after, I took a leap of faith and founded KurlCulture KC in November 2022 — Kansas City’s premier natural hair salon bridging beauty and scalp health. 

Through KurlCulture KC, I’ve created a space rooted in authenticity, community, and confidence — where women are educated, empowered, and encouraged to embrace their natural kurls unapologetically.

My mission is to help women believe in the beauty of their natural texture and understand that healthy hair is not just about style — it’s about self-worth, self-care, and self-love. I take pride in combining advanced education, scalp health awareness, and personalized regimens to help clients feel beautiful both inside and out.
